The Betty Crocker Landscape Awards are held annually to recognize and acknowledge some of the thousands of people who work every day to make Hawai'i a more beautiful place. Many people contribute to promoting and preserving the beauty of Hawai'i from a diverse array of backgrounds. While many professionally designed and installed landscapes are celebrated, many other wonderful public and private landscapes are the result of passionate individuals who simply have an avid gardening interest and concern for their environment. All of them have a love of the land and an appreciation of the natural beauty of our island. We salute each and every one of them.
The Betty Crocker Landscape Awards event is named in honor of Betty Crocker, one of the founders of
the organization who worked tirelessly and enthusiastically for over 30 years. Her dedication to
protect and to preserve the state’s beauty and scenic views has encouraged many new beautification
efforts. It is with fond memories that we will always remember Betty Crocker, who passed away in the
year 2000.
